Part-time jock, part-time reporter, all-time new media--Here I'll share with you things I've come across in the world!

Bowie's Controversy and The Walking Talking Dead

David Bowie's new album The Next Day is great!  I can't stop listening to it!  There are some absolutely wonderful tunes including "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)" which we currently spin on Alice.

Another great tune is "Love is Lost."

The opening and title track "The Next Day" is equally as catchy and fun.  The video, on the other hand, has sparked some controversy.  Watch (at your own risk and after logging in to YouTube to prove you're over 18) the video starring Bowie and one of my favorite actors Gary Oldman below:

It's reported that YouTube actually took the video down temporarily because of the graphic nature of the content.  It's not just provoking religious insensitivity, there is also blood and even some brief (not entirely) nude models.  But, YouTube recognizes Bowie as a music legend so they put the video back up saying:

"with the massive volume of videos on our site, sometimes we make the wrong call. When it's brought to our attention that a video has been removed mistakenly, we act quickly to reinstate it."

I know from first hand that YouTube doesn't act quickly or at all.  A couple of years ago, I accidently deleted a YouTube channel and after contacting YouTube they essentially told me that it's a free service and I should just deal with it.  Ha!

Well, surely they gave Bowie a pass, because ... well ... it's Bowie!

The Walking and Talking Dead

Not much to say about this, other than ... ENJOY!
