It's no secret
|brrr ... it's cold!|
As I've mentioned on the air many times--I love the fall months leading into winter. I can't get enough of it! There's something about the chill in the air, when you can see your breath. Though I do enjoy the life giving months of Spring, Fall sets my mood just right!
But, with each change in season, you homeowners gotta think about that regular home maintenance. Why not take the fall months to ensure you won't run into any problems when the mercury drops in the thermometer.
Here you can find some tips on winterizing your homestead.
Inspect the furnace--The worst thing that could happen in the winter months is to not have sufficient heat. Your pipes could freeze and burst leading to some serious problems and not being able to get the house nice and toasty during the cold months would be miserable. Check and change the filter and why not call an HVAC professional to do a quick review of your furnace.
If you've got a fireplace, get it ready--Home fires can be devastating, so you want to ensure you don't have anything clogging up your chimney. Oh, and be sure to have plenty of firewood on hand!
Check those exterior doors and windows--If there are any gaps anywhere, get out the weather strip and plug those holes! A slight gap in a window or door can lead to all the hot air being sucked out of the house! You folks have probably said it before, "What are we trying to do, heat the whole neighborhood?"
There are few more other tips you can find here. So be sure to get on the ball and take care of your home maintenance this fall!
